Questions to ask when buying a Medical Alarm
There are a number of questions you should ask before purchasing a medical alarm to ensure you end up with the right one for your requirements. Depending on what you need they can differ drastically in terms of price, service and how they work.
When deciding on which medical alarm to purchase, take a look at the company that is offering the product and what services they provide. How reliable is the equipment? Is there 24 hour assistance? How quickly will they respond?
You’ll also want to ask if the console has a rechargeable battery and whether the console is attached to your existing phone line. Also check what happens if the phone is busy during an emergency. Is the wireless transmitter waterproof and can you wear it in the bath or shower? What is the distance between the transmitter and the console before the signal drops out? Are there any additional costs, including any monthly service charges, setup or termination fees?
You may also want to know how the response team has been trained for and any equipment they may use in the case of an emergency for your own peace of mind.
