Ibprofen increases risk of heart attack

Ibuprofen, the anti-inflammatory drug found in millions of medicine cabinets, increased the risk by almost a quarter, according to a study in Britain. Researchers advised patients using the drug not to stop taking it, but called for further investigation.

Vioxx withdrawn: painkiller increases risk of heart attack and stroke

Vioxx, a painkiller used to treat conditions such as arthritis, menstrual pain and migraines has been pulled worldwide by Merck. Vioxx has been available since 1999 and is used by 2 million people worldwide. This is the biggest drug recall in history.
