Sony NW-HD3 MP3 Player
What’s the difference between Sony’s NW-HD3 and NW-HD2 (NW = Network Walkman)? Version three plays mp3s whereas version two doesn’t. Otherwise, they’re pretty much the same – 30-hour battery life, 20gig hard drive, SonicStage software. And it supports ANTRAC3plus, of course. Source
Press Release:
Sony today announces the launch of NW-HD3, a new addition to its range of Network WALKMAN. The NW-HD3 plays back both ATRAC3plus and MP3 files, and is available in five colour variations. The product will hit the shelves in December 2004 in the UK and January 2005 in the rest of Europe.
The NW-HD3 comes with a range of features designed to deliver quality, choice and convenience for every fan of portable music. The built-in 20 GB hard disk can hold the equivalent of 13,000 tracks or 900 CDs worth of music when using high quality sound ATRAC3plus audio compression technology. It offers 30 hours of uninterrupted playtime and withstands almost all kinds of movement to deliver a skip-free performance. Specially developed G-Sensor technology enables the hard disk to resist impact to protect your valuable music or other data. Its aluminium body makes it light to carry, and the five colour variations of silver, black, pink, blue, and red have been selected to provide a myriad of refreshing options.
Gregory Kukolj, General Manager for Personal Audio Europe at Sony said: “In the NW-HD3, Sony is again demonstrating its commitment to bringing stylish new Network Walkman with technological excellence to the most discerning and fashion-conscious of music lovers. Its high performance features, its ability to playback ATRAC3plus and MP3 files, its contemporary design and competitive price make the NW-HD3 the ideal digital music player in today’s emerging world of PC and online music.”
The NW-HD3 is the latest addition to Sony’s Network WALKMAN family.
