“I got a great mortgage rate from some spam!”
Jon posted a helpful link to a great 4-1-9 site, “4-1-9″ being Secret Service lingo for Nigerian-style phishing.
I wish there was an equivalent site for mortgage spam.
How likely is it that all of these home loan emails are on the level? Why wouldn’t phisher’s use the mortgage angle to collect bank data? The question came up as early as 2000 but I have seen no mortgage mail ripoff threads om Usenet or elsewhere.
