£81 million pledged to combat loan sharks
‘CABINET ministers Alan Johnson and David Blunkett today declared war on loan sharks.
At the conference they promised £81 million to help the poor to escape the clutches of excessive debt.
Trade and Industry Secretary Alan Johnson will spend £45 million on face-to-face counselling to help people escape punitive interest rates.’
