With the Photo Printer 500, people can view and edit their pictures on a huge, bright, 3.5-inch LCD screen — the world’s largest on a snapshot photo printer. The LCD screen can easily be opened and closed, making it more convenient to move around the home or take on trips, as well as protecting it from dust.

The Photo Printer 500 makes real KODAK pictures easily, directly, and consistently from virtually any digital media in about 60 seconds, including most popular memory cards (SD, MMC, CF, xD, MEMORY STICK), USB flash memory devices, PICTBRIDGE enabled digital cameras, mobile devices enabled with BLUETOOTH wireless technology, and Wi-Fi enabled computers (optional KODAK WI-FI card required for the printer).

Gizmodo has a little hands on review of the Kodak Photo Printer 500 and writes - ‘The 500’s got simple in-printer fixes like basic cropping, red-eye and contrast, and corny-but-cool sepia and B& W options. The secret weapon here is the ability to print directly from any program like iPhoto or Photoshop, when the printer forgoes the kid-tested and mother-approved algorithms of its KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology that makes those wedding/family reunion/graduation pictures all look so similar to each other.’

Steves Digicams reviews the Kodak Easyshare Photo Printer 500 and writes - ‘The printer is very compact and lightweight and its big 3.5-inch color screen makes viewing and editing a pleasure. It’s a perfect match for anyone that wants a home printer capable of making photo lab-quality “jumbo” size prints. Dye sub printers use a dry ribbon, no messy inks to fool with and you always know exactly how many prints are remaining. This printer takes those features and adds Kodak’s PerfectTouch Technology to automatically improve the color and brightness and you have red-eye removal at the touch of a button.’

Imaging Resource reviews the EasyShare Photo Printer 500 and concludes, “What makes Kodak’s EasyShare printers special are the added features. The card reader with support for everything but Smart Media is the 500’s big attraction. The LCD Menu system provides rudimentary but useful image enhancements and editing, but it’s real role is showing you what will print. But the 500 is also a compelling addition to your wireless network, providing a 4×6 photo printer to anyone on your network. And its small size and independent nature mean it can tag along with the camera (even an ordinary PictBridge-enabled one), not the computer.”
