Sneakers
Gone are the days where dirty old running shoes made one appear athletic, sporty, and therefore acceptable to associate with.
Now, if one was seen in a pair of grungy old sneakers anywhere off of a sports field, chances are they would be ridiculed and find themselves on the receiving end of some comments to the effect of “Get a job.. shoes aren’t that expensive!” from your average fashion conscious, “popular” teenager.
When playing sport, the older the shoes, the better - for the older they look, the more people will associate “fit” and “active” with the wearer. If one is still in a sports uniform, running shoes are also acceptable.
Otherwise, sports “sneakers” are not standard dress. Like, so not cool.
