Elastic Board Shorts

Glassons was doing a pomotion this year, where you got a free pair of short board shorts with every bikini you bought.
Naturally, this meant that pretty soon, everyone was wearing them. Some were zebra patterned, some with interesting colours and shapes, and others just plain.
“Free - with this purchase” always works.

Patterned Bikinis

A walk along the beach this summer would probably have shown a bit of a trend in what was being worn.
Glassons has been leading the craze of the patterned swimwear, with spots and stripes as the main attraction. Teamed with bright colours, how can they not appeal to a generation of teenage girls?

Cropped Cardies

Normal cardies were back, and following in their wake is a summer favourite - the cropped cardie.
Some are thick, some are thin, some have large knitted holes in them… but they’re meant for summer, as little more than an accessory so it doesn’t look as though one is expecting the hot weather before it comes […]

Short Sleeved Hoodies

These have soared in popularity recently.
Shortsleeved hoodies have hit, and everyone seems to be wearing them. Green is one of the most popular colours, along with the obvious black and white.  Walking down the street, about one tenth of young girls will be wearing short sleeved hoodies of some description.
Unfortunately, these hoodies aren’t great on […]

Voile Tops

Perhaps it’s unpredictable weather, perhaps it’s something else, but voile tops over singlets seem to be very popular this year.
They’re showing up in stores across the country, as well as on the streets… and however useless the voile tops themselves may be, teenage girls certainly like wearing them.

Off the Shoulder Tops

Off the shoulder tops seem to be back in, after a couple of years of relative obscurity.
Some are long sleeved, some are short sleeved, some tight, some loose.. the options are almost endless, but there’s a style of the top to suit everyone, and off the shoulder tops are lining the shelves of clothing stores.

V-shaped Skirts

The Office look is back!
Now, instead of the classic “A” frame skirt, it’s an inverted “A” - or as it’s more commonly known - a “V”. The business-like skirts are selling quickly to girls of all ages (who knows why, perhaps a lot of teenagers have holiday jobs at the office?), and in many different […]

Short Denim Shorts

Short shorts have been huge this summer, but so far, in mostly dark fabric.
Now, denim shorts are becoming popular amongst teenagers, and are seen everywhere, in many different sizes, shapes, colours, and styles. They’re a popular alternative to a miniskirt, as they’re easier to run in, and you don’t have to worry about bending over…
Versatility […]

Barkers

While in the past, teenage girls have enjoyed wearing men’s t-shirts, now they seem to like wearing their pants.
The once popular university names and logos on pants have been replaced by the Barkers name. This is often followed by the slogan “Men’s Clothing”, which seems to give some girls a feeling of masculinity. The pants […]

Polo Tops

The traditional male polo top is back! But this time, it’s in for summer … and for the girls as well as the guys.
Fitted polo shirts - usually either plain coloured or horizontally striped -  have become very well-recieved in the market of young teenage girls who do not discriminate clothes based on gender (i.e. […]
